A smooth-shifting eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission sends power to all wheels of the 2025 Volvo S90. This gearbox allows the driver to shift gears manually.

The 2025 Volvo S90 features AWD technology with Instant Traction™. Under normal conditions, all power is sent to the front wheels to minimize fuel consumption. However, if the need arises, up to 50% of the engine's power can be sent to the rear wheels of the S90.
